Dr. Cruz was born in Havana, Cuba and at age 5 her family migrated to Miami, Florida. As a small child she showed interest in dentistry. While attending Florida International University she was a member of Pre-Dental Society, the organization Alternative Breaks, Center for Community Engagement and Operation Smiles. Her passion in dentistry was reinforced in her undergraduate years where she volunteered at Community Smiles in Miami where dentistry is provided to the underserved. She traveled to Nicaragua on a mission trip to educate children in an orphanage on computer skills and maintaining oral health. Dr. Cruz graduated with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry which prepared her with the scientific basis for her dental profession. She pursued her dental career at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Cruz was proposed to be a simulation lab tutor by her professors to help dental students who struggled in dental procedures.

Today, when Dr. Cruz is not in the office, she volunteers at the local HANDS Clinic. She enjoys spending time with her husband, dog, family, and friends. She loves to go fishing, boating, and continuing her education through various courses and on-going training.

Life & Hobbies

“I was born and raised in South Florida. As a child, I spent the summer months in England with my family who are providers in healthcare. During this time, I gained an enthusiasm for being able to render a much-needed service to others and play a very important role in their life.

I have volunteered at the Mission of Mercy in Gainesville, Florida, “Give Kids a Smile” in Bradenton, Florida. and I’m currently honored to be able to serve the local community by volunteering my time at the Hands clinic in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

In my spare time, I like reading, cooking, gardening, watching and participating in several sports, and spending time with my family as much as I can.”
